Canadian RnB/Pop Artist, Emily Ballhouse released her first break-out single, ‘Back and Forth’ on July 3, 2020. Emily is from Mineville, Nova Scotia, near North Preston, Canada’s largest Indigenous Black Community. Heavily influenced by the extraordinary gospel music coming out of Saint Thomas Baptist Church in North Preston, she carried these soulful influences with her into all of her singing, including her operatic studies and pursuits spanning 10 years.

She never imagined that her varied background was preparing her for singing on the streets of Oakland, CA with gospel rapper, P.L.A (Pastor Larry Austin) . Shortly after her first trip to Oakland, CA, PLA founded “All In Nation”, of which Emily Ballhouse is one of its’ founding members (formerly as ‘Emily B’). During this time, ‘Emily B’ released an EP ‘One Step’ (2018) and ‘He Did It’ (2019). ‘All In Nation’ has toured two consecutive years, performing in Nova Scotia, Canada, Oakland, CA, Jackson, MS, McKinney, Texas, Detroit, MI, Los Angeles, CA and Alexandria, LA.

‘Back & Forth’ is just a small taste of a larger work set to release in 2021: ’The Set-Up to Love’, complete with 8 songs and 8 Spoken Word poems inspired by The Songs of Solomon. Listeners can expect to hear a vivid portrayal of how the relationship within a true lasting bond unfolds from its inception and onwards — a real journey of love as-it-happens to the sounds of classic and current RnB music.
