How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for four years now.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
I consider my music to be primarily hip hop/rap with a mixture of trap, rock and dance.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I’ve always to create beats and loved music videos back in the day during my childhood. I could envision myself playing the main female lead in the music video but I also wanted to create music in the studio too. I simply love music and felt compelled to both listen to and compose it.

My biggest musical influences are Travis Scott, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Pharrell Williams/The Neptunes, Metro Boomin, J Dilla, DJ Quik

I’m an independent artist.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
My biggest challenges in my music career are not being able to find a team to connect with and build music with along with not having my music promoted to the radio or other platforms.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I’ve released two albums under my new name Tana Fiyah and I have several albums and some singles under my real name, Jasmine Boykins.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My latest release is a project that I cherish because I created it while I was going through a difficult time in my life. Life was throwing me some curveballs and I needed to release and heal from some trauma and pain and this album helped me explore more innovative sounds.
