Coming from the border town of Flin Flon Manitoba, CC Trubiak is a Canadian Country Music singer-singer & recording artist. His music blends, heartfelt country – folk with a deep love for storytelling and often incorporates visual and performing arts to create a richer experience.

Where are you based?
I’m currently based in Flin Flon, Manitoba Canada. 🇨🇦

How long have you been making music?
I began song-writing, recording & performing professionally in 2010 and haven’t stopped since. I also create music content on my YouTube channel where I can incorporate visual arts and story-telling.

What genre would you consider your music to be?
Knowing that there’s so many subgenres of country music I would definitely consider myself to lean more towards alternative country. This genre encompasses folk, inspirational and country rock.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I’ve always felt like my purpose in life is to connect via music; especially through singing, songwriting and performing. So many artists have provided a positive impact on me through difficult times in my life. I wanna give back.

What are your biggest musical influences?
My influences range from Classic Country Music, Bluegrass, Gospel, Outlaw Country, Country Rock and Pop to Americana and Alt-Country.  Give me Waylon, Willie, Dolly or Emmylou any day!

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am a completely independent artist looking for the right label to sign me!

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
As a self-taught artist who lives in a small town the biggest challenges have been learning how to navigate the pitfalls of imposter syndrome or figuring out how to find the right mentorship and opportunities to increase my artistic profile but good thing is I’m not one to give up easily and I believe in myself far better today than I did when I began the journey.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
Currently I have released three albums (‘They Say I’m Different’ – 2011, ‘Tiny Army’ – 2013 & ‘McBain’ – 2018) which are available for streaming. I’ve a total of 19 registered originals as a SOCAN artist and am currently working on adding to that!

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My last release was 2018’s ‘McBain’, an album of originals written after the passing of my dad to cancer in 2015.  The song ‘Raven’ was a Top 5 Song in the 2018 National CBC Searchlight Contest which was a huge milestone for me professionally. The album contains a variety of alternative country sounds and was funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign. I’m constantly creating content for my YouTube channel as well; ranging from acoustic covers to Vinyl Country Deep Dives.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Absolutely! In summer of 2025 my hometown & neighboring communities underwent a major fire crisis that had everyone evacuated for a months time; displaced and uncertain if we’d even return. In this time I leaned on my songwriting to pass the time and cope and from it 19 new originals were written. Next goal is to record 10 of these songs in March 2026 and at this point I am in the pre-production phase of working diligently on them as well as funding! Stay tuned!
