Rascalin is influenced by Bob Marley. Rascalin breathes new life and perspective into the classic sounds of Roots Reggae. His love for the guitar and Jimi Hendrix, Rascalin has found and perfected his style, he is the Jimi Hendrix of Reggae. Rascalin grew up in Bocas del Toro, a small Caribbean island off the northern coast of Panama.

Where are you based?
San Clemente, CA.

How long have you been making music?
I started as a child mostly percussive instruments then I picked up the guitar at 14 years old

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I’m 5th generation musician in our Jamaican family, they migrated to Bocas Del Toro. They’re all on stage with me when I jam. Its who I am. I feel that they all expect me to rock on the highest level

What are your biggest musical influences?
Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimi Hendrix, the Beachers of Panama, Ozzy & Randy Rhodes, Van Halen, Oscar De Leon, there is more but this is my top influences.

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
Independent We have our label. Bocas Records Intl’

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
To find the bass and the drums I needed for my sound that I was inspired by, I heard it in my head but I could not find those musicians until now, the past 4 years have been fantastic in my musical journey. I’m ready to start recording again.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I have hundreds of songs but I did not publish but 10. Great rhythm section from the Peter Tosh band on my CD Reggae Fever.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
It really addresses the person in the mirror and empowerment, making the evil inclination a slave to the good inclination we all have both. Which one dominates your life most of the time, looking within ones self.
