Central Coast California based Country-Soul Artist, Petrella, is best known as “The First Lady of Country-Soul” for her blend of Country and Rhythm & Blues, energetic and fun live shows and Western styled wardrobe. With country music lyrics mixed with R&B rhythms her music draws influence from artists like Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd and of course Tina Turner. She has landed recording deals with Playback Records and Universal Music (TMG). Dubbed “a true vocal power house who will lead you to believe that every song is sung by a completely different person” by Matt Yeager of the Morning News

Petrella’s work with the R&B Group “The Spinners” found her performing on the main stage at the Rose Music Venue in Pasadena, CA in front of thousands. She has also open for Gladys Knight at the Black Cowboy Rodeo, AJ Croce and Billy Vera at the Canyon Club and for the Deltones at the Jackie Robinson Park. She received this accolade following a performance at the Stone Soup Music Festival, ““Throughout the weekend I heard many comments expressing the gratitude, appreciations and excitement over your performances.  Everything I heard all weekend was amazing”

Her current release “Bebop Hoedown” has been streamed more than 150K times. She has been nominated for New Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Performer of the Year by a variety of music industry organizations and publication including Nashville Tracker magazine and the Tennessee Songwriters Association. Petrella landed on the cover of the respected industry trade publication CASHBOX in 1994. Her single “I Found Somebody” spent 14 weeks on the national Top 100 Country Singles Chart (peaked #52, two spots above Shania Twain, and 13 spots above Dolly Parton), followed by “Blues Stay Away from Me” (peak #68, with a music video being shown from California to South Carolina). Famed recording artist/songwriter Brenda Russell even wrote a tune for Petrella, “When the Night Rolls In.” Petrella’s song “My Dirty Song” reached Number 3 on the syndicated country radio show “Independent Music Network”.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
“Songs of Many Colors’ is just that, this album reflects the many different emotions experienced during the Pandemic, from personal loss depicted in the song “Sweet Broken Memories”, to dealing with stress and anxiety in “Bring it Here Baby”, to a reflection of the times in “Try Something New”.
