A fresh mix of electronic rock with a few drops of synth pop are the secret ingredients of the Vancouver-based band ‘OurGlassZoo’.
The debut EP in 2017 made it to the semi-finals of the biggest on-line songwriting competition(ISC) which featured high end judges such as Lorde, Kaskade, Tom waits and Bastille while the songs ‘Somehow Somewhere’ and ‘Listen’ got radio play in both Italy and the UK in 2018.
The follow up EP ‘Hindsight’ was released through Sony Orchard & Volunteer Media.
Since its release, ‘Hindsight’ has over 300K streams on Spotify while the songs ‘Astronaut’, ‘Sins’ and ‘In your head’ have enjoyed radio play in Italy, the USA and Canada.
The single ‘Astronaut’ featured the band’s first official music video, which starred Georgie Daburas (Edward Spellman on the Netflix hit series ‘Sabrina’). It was nominated for ‘best video’ at the London Music Video Festival and won ‘best rock video’ at the LA Music Awards.
The band released its second music video ‘Sins’ the following year and won prestigious awards including the Munich Music Video Awards, The Berlin Short Film Festival, Rome Music Video Awards and was nominated for a Leo Award.
In early 2022 OurGlassZoo released its first full album ‘Aftermath’ with the support of Creative BC. The single ‘Free’ includes a collaboration with Juno award winning hip hop artist Prevail (‘Swollen Members’). The track was remixed by producer KutMasta Kurt (‘Linkin Park’ & ‘Beastie Boys’) and features hip-hop legend Moka Only.
The second single of the album entitled ‘Here’ debuted on Canadian national radio while the third single ‘Reminisce’ gained 30K streams in less than a month on Spotify. The band was labeled ‘new breakout artist’ by magazines such as ‘Exclaim!’ and ‘The Guardian.’ The band is currently recording its 4th album with the support of Creative BC and scheduled for a European tour with XL the band later this year.
