Where are you based?
Upstate New York
How long have you been making music?
About eight years.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
Mostly alternative/orchestral
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Mostly because it helped me with my own projects if I could just compose the music myself. Later on I started doing commission work. I enjoy it because it challenges me to branch out in ways I wouldn’t have otherwise.
What are your biggest musical influences?
Danny Elfman, Bernard Herrmann, George Crumb, Philip Glass.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
Independent artist.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Not knowing music theory very well.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
21 albums (not including commissioned work). I have no idea how many songs, I don’t know if I’ve reached a thousand yet but it’s up there.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
It’s the soundtrack to my own visual novel, Methods. It’s a more jazzy score than usual, but I tried to incorperate a lot of variety in terms of the flexibility of the “sound world”.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Keep an eye out for more music from Blankspace, an escape room visual novel/puzzle game. There’s some cool stuff in there that I’m very excited about!
