Noah Hoffeld is a singer-songwriter, producer and cellist out of New York State. His recent album Mobile Home was coproduced by Mark Plati (Bowie, Prince, etc) with drums by Doug Yowell of Joe Jackson’s band. Called the “deeply spiritual album Bowie forgot to make” (JW Vibe) Mobile Home addresses issues from climate change to equality and inclusion. Noah’s cello playing is featured on the 2020 Grammy-winning Finding Gabriel by Brad Mehldau, and on the 2023 Bafta-winning best score of Mood on BBC.

Where are you based?
Near Woodstock, New York

How long have you been making music?
I’ve been singing and playing professionally since I was 10.

What genre would you consider your music to be?

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
It’s like a deep need that goes beyond words or thoughts. I can’t not do it! It’s in my DNA or my soul, however you look at it.

What are your biggest musical influences?
John Lennon, David Bowie and J.S. Bach

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
Indie all the way.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
The same as many- getting heard and cutting through the endless noise of the internet to a meaningful relationship with the audience. This happened to some degree with my last album Mobile Home, but is still a work in progress.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
An EP and two full-length LP’s

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Sure! Mobile Home is an album about the home we all share- Planet Earth, and the need we all have to take care of it, as well as every human and creature who’s aboard. I try to write and sing about this in a fun way that makes people smile and groove while thinking about serious stuff. That’s my goal with the music. It’s about transmitting Love to all beings.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Yes, I’m writing a new album of songs now, while working on a couple other projects with my cello and friends, like Bodhiheart and Genevieve Walker. You can find other stuff we’ve done, all on your favorite platform!
