Where are you based?
Staten Island, New York

How long have you been making music?
Mind Your Own was created in 2019 as a two-piece featuring Hanna Marie and Alex. This year, they welcomed Michael and Sara.

What genre would you consider your music to be?
We are a blend of Indie Rock and Alternative. Soo Alternative Indie Rock? Ha-ha.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
We all share a strong passion for creating music and we absolutely love writing original songs and performing them live.

What are your biggest musical influences?
Our influences are pretty diverse among the four of us, from folk, rock, metal, jazz and a little blues. Our top influences are Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Ozzy Osborne, Blink 182, Rush, Charles Mingus, Dafnis Prieto and Tony Williams. Told you we were diverse.

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
We currently are not signed to any labels.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Definitely trying to get our music heard, but little by little we’re getting better at slowly making a name for ourselves.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
So far we have released three EPs. “Revelations” and “It’s Now or Never” were released when the band was a two piece group. “Through the Bad Times” is the third and latest EP, which features all four members.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
“Through the Bad Times” is our latest 5 song EP. Lyrically it reflects a personal journey of losing yourself, not knowing which paths to choose, facing your inner demons and finally taking your shot. Musically it features powerful vocals, booming, groovy drums and bass with rockin’ guitar riffs.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
We have several shows lined up through the rest of the year. In between, we are continuing to write new music and our goal is to release another EP by next summer.
