Born in Rome in 1985, his Italian-American heritage adds a rich cultural depth to his artistry. Before embarking on his solo career, LIPFORD spent 17 years as the guitarist and composer for the Alternative Rock band MANTRAM, a role that shaped his musical identity and honed his songwriting abilities. When the band disbanded in January 2019, LIPFORD seized the opportunity to redefine his artistic direction, embracing a solo path that allowed him to explore new sonic landscapes and emotional narratives.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Since I was a teenager, music fascinated me more than anything else: I think it’s destiny. “My Dear, Find what you love and let it kill you.” This is just me.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
My solo project: it was not easy leaving my band after 17 years together and start running something completely mine and completely different from my previous artistic efforts.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Expectations of a life, disappointed. The constant wish to escape. A fleeting relationship could be the answer? Can a night of overwhelming passion make all the unresolved problems disappear? Can a love, even ephemeral, however intense, make life’s experience better? Now it’s up to you. Or maybe not?
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I’m currently collaborating with 2 bands in the Roman rock scene (top secret). It will surely come out something completely different from what you’ve listened so far. A change of gear was necessary.
