@lilybrooksobriant ‘Fix Me’ OUT THIS FRIDAY 🛠️🖤
Where are you based?
Los Angeles, California but I lived in Tennessee until I was 9 yrs old and lived in NYC from age 10-13.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been writing songs since I was 5 or 6, but I recorded my first original song when I was 16 after going through my first real heartbreak.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
My music is Pop, but it’s infused with a singer/songwriter vibe. I love weaving personal stories into melodies, so there’s always an emotional layer to my songs.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I’ve always loved expressing myself creatively, whether through acting or music. But there’s something really special about songwriting—it’s like putting my diary into a melody. Growing up, I saw how music could connect people, and I wanted to create something that could help others feel less alone in what they’re going through.
What are your biggest musical influences?
I’m inspired by artists like Taylor Swift for her incredible storytelling, Billie Eilish for her fearless creativity and authenticity, Ariana Grande for her vocal power and versatility, Sabrina Carpenter, who balances fun pop anthems with emotional depth, Tate McCrae who embraces her and of course Dolly Parton, who’s a phenomenal songwriter and businesswoman. They’ve all shaped the way I approach my music, blending emotional honesty with captivating melodies.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I’m currently an independent artist. It gives me the freedom to be creative and connect with my fans in my own way.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Balancing everything! Between acting, music, and just being a teenager, it’s definitely a juggling act. But every time I release a song or perform and see how it impacts someone, it reminds me why I do this.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I released my first original song in April 2023, and “Fix Me” will be my 19th original song. I’ve also released two EPs: Too Good to Be True in August 2023 and Hopeless Romantic in September 2024.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
“Fix Me’ is an anthem of self-acceptance and independence. It’s about rejecting the idea that someone else needs to ‘fix’ you to fit their version of perfect. I wanted to capture that moment when you realize you’re enough just as you are—flaws, strengths, and everything in between. It has a moody yet empowering vibe, blending emotional lyricism with an uptempo beat. If you’ve ever felt pressured to change for someone else, this song is for you. Think Tate McCrae meets Olivia Rodrigo.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Absolutely! After “Fix Me”, I’m releasing —”Looking for a Man” on March 14th. Two of these singles will lead into my third EP “Catch Me if You Can”, which is dropping this spring. I’m so excited about this project because it feels like the most authentic version of myself yet.
