As a native Memphian, some of Jamin Allgood’s early music was heavily influenced by the grit-n-grind hip-hop scene. However, in 2020 he emerged with a new catalog of alternative rap inspired by his religious faith.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
My passion for journaling and creative writing is how I began to develop a taste for lyrical content.

What are your biggest musical influences?
My faith and some of the music industry most prolific pioneers are my biggest influences. Overall, I consider myself a student of the game

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I’m an independent artist.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
The biggest challenges in my music career has been staying consistent and devoting time to further develop my craft.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
So far I have at least 2 indie projects that include my recent EP, “Feel Alive. I also have a few singles.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My latest release is a single entitled “Wheels Fall Off” and it’s about faith and unity so it comes from a religious perspective. It’s also available on all platforms.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Yes. I plan to release another EP in 2021 by the title “Wheels Fall Off” and it will include the single along with a few other songs.
