Today we have the pleasure of interviewing Huni, an up-and-coming artist in the R&B and Pop scene. Huni draws inspiration from talented artists such as Jazmine Sullivan, H.E.R, and Muni Long. She has been singing for many years, but started in the Church. Huni recently won a radio competition on 107.9 The Beat, and she is currently working on new music and preparing for the release of her debut album.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I want to live a certain way and on a teachers salary was making it very hard. I want to use my talents to take care of everyone I love.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Honestly i would day it would be figuring out how I want to sing something in my way and not sound like anyone else.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
I wrote it because I was feeling confident in myself and I just felt I was the baddest woman my man had came across.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I’m releasing my first solo album, Self Titled Huni… Bringing back the real feelings in R&B music.
