A suitable quote that describes HeEro’s mentality on how he takes his approach towards his music. From the surrounding environment, to listen to various styles of music, and life-changing events have molded the shape of the sound that is to come. A walking enigma with an intricate and meticulous creative mindset, HeEro blends Philosophy, Poetry, Fantasy, Realism, Video Games, and Japanese Culture with an eclectic taste of music to broaden his sound.

Atryu Ken-trell Johnson was born in 1985 Baton Rouge, Louisiana in a town called Scotlandville. Growing up in a house that constantly played music, his musical roots began to shape from each individual in his family, which later caused him to have his own musical identity. From his father and mother both having a similar taste, from Gospel, R&B, Soul, and Jazz, he also gained his influences from his grandparents as well. His grandmother had similar interest as his mother, although his grandfather had a different interest in sound.

How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music since 2004

What genre would you consider your music to be?
I really don’t fit anywhere to be honest. I will have to create my own genre to be satisfied but If I would have to be between Alternative Hip-Hop/Metal.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I simply didn’t like what I was hearing on the airwaves or seeing in the videos. I felt like there was a void missing in my life sonically. So instead complaining about the problem I decided be apart of the solution to create something new.

What are your biggest musical influences?
I have an eclectic taste so my musical influences stretch from genre to genre. I listen to Hip-Hop, Prog Metal, Grunge, Electro Funk, Nu Metal, Math Rock, Video Game and Anime Soundtracks, and J-Pop. These are where some my influences come from.

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am an independent artist with his own label Vibrant Wavez Music Group.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
I would have to say creating this album has been the hardest challenge I have dealt with thus far in my career. I’ve dealt losing songs due to hardware crashes, emotion drainage, physical illness, lack of inspiration at crucial times, lack of income, jus life in general. Fighting through it was the toughest

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
This is my debut album but I’ve done 4 mixtapes prior to this one.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My new single Peace of Mind is only the piece of the puzzle. Basically, it talks about my fights with depression and how I fight to overcome it. More like my moment of clarity.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
My album Foreshadowing will be releasing at the end of May.
