A native of Philadelphia, PA, Glointrovany is the embodiment of diversity, and displays a dedication that feeds on rejection. Like most of his peers, Glo grew up idolizing rap legends such as Drake, Future and Lil Wayne. What separates him from many of his counterparts is the almost equal affinity he had for anime, as well as rock bands such as My Chemical Romance and System of a Down. It’s that balance of conflicting sounds and cultures that shaped his resistance to the confines of any particular style or genre. At 15, Glo converted his savings into a makeshift studio and hit the grindstone, eager to sharpen his edge. Demoralized by his disastrous first attempt at making a record, ready to give up on his dream, Glo credits Uzi Vert for his recovery. Uzi was tantamount to a walking mirror, reflecting an image that Glo saw as himself. Equally reassured by the rise of XXXtentacion, Glo recognized the fact that “oddballs” not only have an avenue for self-expression, but the road is congested. As a senior, Glointrovany approached a group of 3 rappers he knew, hoping to earn a spot on their team. Rather than acceptance, he was injected with a dose of repudiation that coursed through his veins. Feeling defeated once again, Glo gave up on music and enrolled in college. Dissatisfied with the classroom and working dead end jobs, he took a hammer to his piggy bank, an Uber to the studio and the chip on his shoulder into the booth. The rest is history.
