After a solid year of live shows, 2024 finds indie synth rock/pop band Gilda House mostly at home in the studio, honing their signature sonic & safe embrace. Gilda House’s invitation remains open for you to lean in, dance, and meditate on aspects of self and community with their latest release titled, Anam Cara.

Anam Cara is an electric indie love anthem embodying the spirit of discovery and the unexpected revealing a timeless deep connection. First there’s a recognition, then a celebration, and a continued acknowledgment that this kind of love has a mind of its own and though we don’t necessarily choose it, it always finds us.

The band includes Meg Gildehaus (lyrics, lead vocals, bass synth), Tony Morales (guitar, keys, backup vocals), and Nick Miles (drums, lighting design). Sean Lynch manages, records, and mixes live shows. All four contribute to writing and everyone brings a unique skill-set, hard work, and a humble attitude to the project. It’s a motivating environment and their best work is just beginning to come to fruition.

Where are you based?
Billings, MT

How long have you been making music?
2019, but since Fall 2022 in our current configuration

What genre would you consider your music to be?
Indie Synth Rock / Pop

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Music is truly one of few universal languages. Participating in speaking, sharing, communing, and processing in this language together is what draws us to a career in music.

What are your biggest musical influences?
We are inspired and influenced by musicians who embrace their unique and most free version of themselves in songwriting and performance. A few that come to mind for us include: Florence and The Machine, Lady Gaga, Greg Puciato, Crosses, Death Cab For Cutie, Phantogram, Pixel Grip and more.

Are you signed to a label or are you independent?
We are independent.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
The cost of touring and bringing our live show to more people is challenging, but we are strategic about it and do our best. It’s also difficult to cut through all the digital noise when pushing out our music. We are always in search of our people – we know you’re out there!

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
We have released 3 EPs, a handful of covers, and one single. 22 songs total.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Anam Cara is the start of true writing and producing collaboration between all four of us from the start of the writing process. We can’t wait to share more of this work! Anam Cara manifested as a bop that celebrates unexpected and perfectly imperfect love.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
We have a few more singles planned for this year and a full album release next year!
