My stage name is Dez D’or(Pronounced Dior like the designer). The D’or in my name stands for “Da original”. Born in New Orleans, La. Started doing music around 9 years old. Fell in love with music through Jazz, Funk & R&B but it grew as I started listening to rap more & more.

Where are you based?
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been been music on & off for about 8 years now.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
My dad, he truly was a music genius to me. His knowledge, he owned tons of Music. I mean racks on racks, bass guitars, keyboards. It’s funny because he didn’t play any of it. Haha. His passion of music fueled mine.
What are your biggest musical influences?
Music wise? Actually Maze, Isley Brothers, The O’Jays, Michael Jackson. A lot of the stuff my dad put me on pretty much. Hip-Wise? The South in general. Cash money, especially Wayne, early Jeezy & T.I. But PAC, Hov, Kanye & Wayne are like my GOATS. So a lot of what I do, is because of their influence.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
No, currently indie. That time will come though.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
As a indie Artist its all about consistency, not letting life & distractions slow you down or discourage you. So that’s always a struggle, just making sure I’m staying focused. Not doing the bare minimum, 9-5’s reward you for the bare minimum but it’s no room for that when you’re Indie. You have to outwork your competition if you want to stand out. Understanding these things & acting on them consistently are always challenging.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
Officially? 1 EP release & 2 singles. Songs & remix? Plenty, more than I can count or remember lol
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Yeah, Raw Files(out on every streaming Platform btw). It’s more of a appetizer of my talent, different style flows & beats on every song. I just wanted to show I’m a rapper FIRST, before I show my other sides & sounds as a artist. A lot of the music is some of my first songs I recorded as a solo artist as well, so it’s a lot more growth that will be shown on my next releases.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Yes, I’ll be releasing some covers/remixes in the upcoming weeks on my Instagram/YouTube page, so look out for that. I’m currently working on my new EP “Raw Mix”, that I hope to release sometime late September/Early October.
