It all started by accident, as an experiment:

”Six months ago I was roaming the Google Play-store in search of a certain application. I bumped accidentally into something called Bandlab. As a curious mind it grabbed my attention and I decided to check out what’s it all about.
I noticed that it’s a very versatile and simple (which I do like a lot) program with seemingly endless options to make what ever kind of
music you possibly can imagine. So, I was immediately hooked.
I started to write melodies and rhythmic patterns using my main project, Matyascorvinus-songs as guidelines and the base of the new music I was creating.
And it all started with ease; I knew exactly what I wanted to do. The software itself is very simple to use, so I had everything in my
hands in no time: pianos and violins being the main characters in what I was doing.
Why pianos and violins? Just because I have a ”kink” in them: I am a huge fan of string arrangements typical for Finnish schlagers of the seventies. Violins and pianos also played a big role in the original disco music of late seventies and early eighties. Which I am also a big fan of. I also wanted to make modern music with a slight traditional touch, as a fan of EDM, Trance and such.

Where are you based?
Finland

How long have you been making music?
Twenty years, at least.

What genre would you consider your music to be?
EDM, Dark Wave

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I’ve been in bands for almost my entire life. It all started very early and is simply driven by inner urge to do music.

What are your biggest musical influences?
The whole universe, to be honest. The inspiration comes from somewhere, sometimes from everywhere. It’s impossible to name some certain factor. It’s a sum of phenomena, experiences and the state of mind.

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am an independent artist.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
There was a time when I had to struggle with different interests and schedules of my band members. Today I’m a solo artist, doing whatever I like, whenever I like. Today there are very few challenges. Except money: you have to pay for everything. But in general, there are no particular obstacles in what I’m doing.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
As Matyascorvinus: four EPs and five singles. As Del’Noire: one EP.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
As mentioned it started as an experiment. I wanted to study my capabilities of doing this kind of recording. I’ve never done anything like this before. I had to learn how to do everything; mixing, producing, mastering etc. Writing songs was very easy: I had a vision of songs, structures, arrangements, flavours…how everything should sound. I wanted to learn, and took a leap straight into the deep end, if you like. Like in my life, I love to learn new things and find out how things work. Haunting Of Del’Noire was my school of studio environment. The whole process took about six months to complete and it was carried out completely with freeware equipment.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Let’s see how The Haunting flies! I’m always in a totally blank state after the release of my works. Takes a long time before I’m able to work again. I must get the recording out of your system first. But I’m sure The Haunting will not be the last work of mine. I already have new things cooking. Suppose there’ll be something new to release next fall.
