Hip-hop with a mix of pop in there
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I had been writing poetry for a long time (I still do), and I’ve always had this huge passion for music so I though why not put my two biggest passions together.
What are your biggest musical influences?
Childish Gambino, Tyler, the Creator, Brockhampton, Mac Miller, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, and Kid Cudi are some off the top of my head
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I’m independent as of today
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Getting my music out to the masses and perfecting it has been a tremendous difficulty but that’s part of it.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
2-Colors of the Valley and Devotion and Despondence which was just released
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
It’s more thematically cohesive than the last record. There’s pure hip-hop and there’s pure pop on the album. Devotion represents love and the lighter type songs, while Despondence represents despair and the darker, heavier type songs. It’s definitely about trying to find that balance between light and dark ala Star Wars.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I got an album tentatively titled Songs From a Bedroom in the works, it shouldn’t be too long before that.
