JUICE is a combination of genres and sounds ranging from 70’s sounds to up to date styles. Serious relationship subjects in a fun combination of sonics.
Where are you based?
Florida
How long have you been making music?
What genre would you consider your music to be?
My albums are generally a fusion of genres, not genre specific. JUICE is a combo of 70-80’s arena rock, hip hop, pop, electro hop and rock
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
We have our own indie label now Shire Road Records and will be signing more artist in the near future.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Currently it is my writing format. I mix many different sounds, styles and genre. I can be hard to place and categorize. The industry generally wants it to fit neatly into one of their boxes. Easier to market to specific groups.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
With American Sound Crew I am up to 17 I believe, although not all released some are still being mixed. Some are mid recording.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Yes, absolutely, JUICE is a relationship story. The songs work independently but it is best listened to the first time beginning to end. All of the songs are introverted, that is to say they are the characters thoughts within his or her own head. His or her thinking, rather than written as if sung to an audience. The basics of the story line are: Young people in modern day relationships. She teases him in the intro of JUICE, he wants to get her off to impress her. The song is him telling himself what to do. That moves into Star he worships her, he loves her, she uses him. Into Vanilla, he feels self doubt because she has so many demands. Into Post M Bones (which is actually Post Malone) I wrote this while bedridden after a heart attack, I was watching a Post Malone concert. I reworked the verse parts to use it in JUICE. It is basically about feeling imprisoned in our daily routines and how we escape internally by connections to others, music, etc. Into IF WE DO, she is manipulating him, by guilt, she is pursuing but acting like it is him. First Blood describes his environment, he does everything right, but always gets the bad end of the deal. K-Fine is that numb head state we can reach when we just agree with everyone because we are too exhausted to battle, essentially you dont care any more.Seduction is more of her using sex to manipulate him. Misunderstood is basically his realization that no matter what he does, she is never satisfied and he is broken. Hard is her trying to flip it all on him. When in fact she didn’t love him, she wanted to be taken care of, get out of her parents house and use him, now she is flipping the script to play the victim. A very different album for me to write and record. Very fun, it is not intended to be a masterpiece. It is somewhat juvenile, dopey, pop-rock at points. I drew a lot of inspiration from my teen days at the old roller rinks. It’s an enjoyable ride, some serious introverted thinking in a not overly serious format. I usually have heavy dramatic orchestration on my albums. This is bubbly for the most part.
