SoCal born and raised solo artist turned Classical guitar music major, Matthew Ortega aka Condewit, looking to be the next big thing in music. The solo artist concept, Condewit, was a project built on hope, it’s saved my life more times than I can count or would ever like to admit. And with the 2nd official album looking to release before the end of this year, this is going to be the start of something truly electrifying and hopefully the most impactful with the intention to save lives and be an escape to the pains and stressors of our world today.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Taught myself guitar at the age of 12, went to become a music major in classical guitar when I couldn’t teach myself further without the help of instructors and music professors.
What are your biggest musical influences?
Andres Segovia, The Mars Volta, Mozart, Beethoven, Tom Morello, Rage Against The Machine, 311, the list is infinite. My music library has quite a thick collection ranging from everything Beethoven to Sublime’s newest single that just dropped.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
Independent, waiting for someone to pick me up so I can finally bring my music all around the world.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Covid, when the lockdown happened I wasn’t able to do any touring or promote the first album at all, and I am hoping to change that with this new record when it drops.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I’ve released 1 EP, 1 album (M.G.I.), and tons of singles from those, & about to release my 2nd official album
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
“El Futuro” was me working with a producer for the very first time, and we worked so well together that we went ahead and made this new album together as a result. And it was honestly the most fun I have ever had in a studio, both of our creative minds put together and made something truly special and unique. It seemed like when we got together that as they say: music flowed out like a river…”
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Just looking forward to this next record, which is my 2nd official album and really looking forward to it’s release. We have a goal date in mind of releasing it December 5th, 2025.
