Where are you based?
Our studio is based in Los Angeles, CA. It has been home to many artists over the past 40 years and countless film/TV projects.
How long have you been making music?
We both started music when we were around 4 years old. We’ve both been creating our entire lives, so this project really feels like the culmination of everything we’ve ever gone through.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
We are definitely pop producers. As we work with more and more artists, we have dived more into other genres of music, but it is mostly through the lens of pop.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Storytelling. Every song we’ve made has an emotional through-line and I think it is so incredible that we can use sounds and words to take listeners on a journey and an experience.
What are your biggest musical influences?
Nature is a big musical influence for us. So much so that most of our visual brand centers around it. There is so much passion and beauty in nature. It definitely inspires our music. If you listen to our work, you can definitely hear sounds of wind or water in the background to give the music texture as well.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
We certainly work with a lot of labels and publishing companies, but we are independent.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
The biggest challenge we have faced together has been expanding our team. We’ve been on our own for so long, having other people fill in roles that we usually do ourselves has been really challenging. Everyone has their own way of doing things and has their own strengths and weaknesses, so seeing how everyone can work together over a common goal has been a really eye-opening experience for us.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
We’ve released over 200 songs. And that’s just our released songs! We have many many more, we hope the world can hear them some day, when the time is right.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Our latest release is “Crash” by Faime. Faime is an artist we’ve been developing over the past 4 years. It was co-written with Lev Freedman and Lucas Szulansky. It’s about a relationship ending out of nowhere. So many of the production elements and lyrics come out of nowhere to kind of represent that. We’re really excited about his project, especially with how much it has taken off over the past 4 years.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
A few artists we’re really passionate about working with are Vi, Lavi$h, Faime, Tayler Holder, and Zaryah. Each of them have an element about them that makes them unique and we love tapping into who they are to really bringing it out in each record.
