“Due Sonetti di Dante” is a recent original composition by Paolo Coggiola that Ensemble Voyagers, the fantastic ensemble created by Daniele Montagner, played in Cd. With the penetrating and ethereal voice of Aki Osada, the piece unfolds around the unstoppable progression of flute, lute, harmonium and drums. The strength of the voice strikes you at the same time as the transient pinch and the thud of the instruments for a pure and pure auditory experience. While the Neo-Classical is finally starting to break the waves in the UK, there is little that can be compared to the Medievally inspired piece that blends a myriad of cultures both archaic and contemporary together to produce an irresistibly cinematic sound to represent evolution of music.
