Anna Cole, a teen veteran of the music business who is also a Swansboro Middle School student, will hit the big time this month when she makes her debut as a signed artist with the release of her new song “Boom Boom Bang,” on the Zurich, Switzerland-based Submindie Records label.
In the words of Sascha Weberknecht, the Submindie Records CEO, “Anna could have a hit on her hands.” She has teamed up with record producer Maison Real of Barcelona, Spain, for the song. Anna recorded all of the vocals for the record in Swansboro, North Carolina at her family’s ‘Gearhead East’ home studio.
Anna states: “I am very excited about releasing Boom Boom Bang and getting a chance to have listeners across all continents hear my music and get to know me. This is my first record deal and the people at Submindie Records have been fantastic. They are really getting behind the record and have actually created two dance remixes of the song, and will simultaneously release all three versions of Boom Boom Bang; two of which will go into DJ pools to be played in dance clubs throughout Europe and beyond.”
According to the Submindie Records CEO Sascha Weberknecht , “Anna Cole is the very first pop artist to release on Submindie Records. Her song ‘Boom Boom Bang’ will be released worldwide on April 11, 2020. I first founded an underground electronic genre label ‘Wechselstrommusic’ in 2017 with a partner in Zurich, Switzerland,” said Weberknecht. “There is so much talent out there; so many great artists get overlooked. Submindie Records came about because I received a lot of great pop and rock tunes, but it was not music I wanted to mix with “Wechselstrommusic” so I created the label Submindie Records to serve more mainstream Top 40 artists like Anna Cole. However, ‘Submindie’ greatly benefits from the experience and knowledge of ‘Wechselstrommusic,’” he explained.
This is not Anna’s first recorded song; she has been working hard and recording music for several years, having officially launched her career under the Great American Solar Eclipse at the Swansboro Yacht Club back in 2017. At that time she released a five-song EP of all-original material that included five YouTube music videos, in a two-disk CD/DVD merchandise pack. “We did that project completely on our own from our home studio and shot the videos with an Ipad. Now I cringe when I watch the music videos haha!” states Cole. “It was a real ‘awakening’ for me to learn how much I needed to up my game to become competitive in this crazy business. Since then I’ve recorded and released several more songs and music videos including ‘Don’t Go’ and ‘No Regrets’, which can be seen on my YouTube channel.”
Anna has performed around the Crystal Coast by singing National Anthems at the Carteret County Speedway and Morehead City Marlins baseball games, and sings with talented guitar maestro Justin Castellano when she joins him at his live shows throughout the region. She has also performed with the Naked Knees band for some all-time favorites at the ‘Boro restaurant in Swansboro. She says, “There is so much musical talent in our area, it’s just amazing how many great musicians are right here where we can go out and see them in person. I can’t wait at go to the Swanfest Summer Concert Series in this year to enjoy some great shows.”
Anna has often said that she wants to be known as “The girl with something to say.” “What a better way to achieve this than through … beautiful music?” she said.
‘Boom Boom Bang’ will be released Saturday, April 11, for streaming and mp3 digital download in all digital stores worldwide including Spotify and iTunes.
