Bio
His first single “I Won’t Miss” starred on NBA 2K21(the game), Next Gen Playlist, and drove James Hardens’ Highlight Remix 20-21 to the rim. After “I Won’t Miss”, Wyze  released his next single “Speak it into Existence” clearing a path for “Like Wyze” – the lead single from his forthcoming album Vanity Before Wyze. (3/25)

Vanity was born in Greensboro, NC. At the age of 5, he moved to New Jersey then returned down south to North Carolina. Spending time in both environments gave him the opportunity to experience a wide range of musical influences that would help mold his sound and style. His musical journey began early with just a hand held recorder rapping and recording verses to share with his family. That spark would soon grow into a flame getting his own software teaching himself to engineer his own songs.

“Music is my canvas to create art… I always go there when something is on my mind”, says Vanity. Now he’s in a professional recording studio full-time working with producer/engineer Sonny King at Music by King Inc. & Music for Love International charity and record label perfecting his craft and recording his major releases. His debut album Vanity Before Wyze dropped March 25th.

Vanity Before Wyze

Where are you based?
North Carolina

How long have you been making music?
I have been making music since my early childhood. I began to take it more seriously around the age 15. Around that time I purchased a handheld recorder, played instrumentals in the background as I rapped over it.

What genre would you consider your music to be?
Predominantly I would consider myself a Hip Hop artist. Though, I am very versatile and my music may at times fall in the category of Pop or even R&B.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Throughout life I have always sought expression, fulfillment, and freedom. That is exactly what the music did for me. I played basketball my entire life. But, that ended in college. Music gave me the opportunity to ball with words. “I Won’t Miss”

What are your biggest musical influences?
I am inspired by a variety of artist, and producers. One of my favorites today is my own producer Sonny King. It’s like every beat has an emotion, which creates the theme for each track. (Genius)

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
The earlier stages of my musical journey, I was independent. I have signed a 1 year record deal with Music for Love, which I am truly grateful for.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Balancing finances has to be my biggest challenge, especially as an independent artist. I never was afraid of a challenge, but between bills, studio time and promotion, I learned the true meaning of sacrifice.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
Currently I have about 20 songs streaming on the various musical outlets, not including my debut album. Yes, Vanity Before Wyze debut album, a collection of 10 brilliant songs, was released March 25, 2022.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
