I’ve been singing, performing and writing songs since I was 16. I’ve travelled through Europe and Australia performing at gigs and festivals, I represented the UK in the 1st Song Festival of a United Europe which was held in Zielona Gora, Poland in June 2000, where Wojtek Szajwaj and I (the only unsigned act throughout the whole competition) sang an original song we wrote together called Sometimes. We came 3rd out of about 15 countries and I was the only woman in the top three. I’ve written to date just over 400 songs, and am always looking for opportunities to collaborate and expand my experience.

Mainstream but I like to challenge myself all the time
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
It’s what I have always done, much like breathing, it’s that vital and important to me
What are your biggest musical influences?
Everyone from Billy Joel, Sara Bareilles, Lizzy Mcalpine, to Loreena McKennitt and Hans Zimmer, it’s a very big list, even some opera.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
No I’m not signed with anyone yet but I am open to offers
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
I suppose the unpredictability of life, especially in light of the last 2 years that we’ve all been through, but even in moments when it is hard, challenging, or you keep getting knocked back, it’s like a marriage, you love it / them, so you fight to keep it going

So far I have released about 12 tracks in total
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
MONDAYs is based on a man or woman refusing to be brow beaten or manipulated by another person’s behaviour and having the courage and self-love to walk away from that situation and value themselves
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I’ve helped long term friend and co-collaborator Wojtek Szajwaj and his new band LOT by writing him some lyrics. Traditionally he will send me some music and I’ll sit with it a while and then write out some lyrics, and when it comes to transaction I rely both on my (very limited) Polish and of course google translate, so that he will understand what I’ve written, we’ve always worked that way over the last 23 years. He has recorded Zabrali mi twoja milosc (which translated means) they took your love away, and I wrote it from the perspective of someone who had lost the love of someone precious to them through events beyond their control, not infidelity but rather the sometimes cruel happenstance of life, that takes those precious people away, , be they friends, family, spouse etc
