To Be released 1 December

Where are you based?
New York

How long have you been making music?
I have been making music for the last 5 years and I knew this year would be the perfect time to debut. I have been singing ever since I was a little girl and playing the violin and piano, so music has always been a huge part of me since birth.

What genre would you consider your music to be?
I would love for my music to be known as multi-genre, because I have never felt that I belong to just one sound. I grew up listening to a wide range of music, from pop, R&B, alternative, rap and jazz, Amapiano, Afrobeat to many other sounds that have influenced me along the way. I grew up jumping around many countries and being exposed to different parts of the world, allowing me to experience so many beautiful musical influences. I feel like it would be impossible to leave those experiences out of my music because they are such a big part of who I am. I don’t want to limit myself to one genre because I am not one genre; I am so much more, and I want my music to reflect that.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Music has always been a part of me. From a young age, I dreamed of becoming a singer, musician and the kind of artist who could make people feel alive, inspired by the incredible women and animated worlds that shaped my imagination. I grew up surrounded by music, attending ballet, acting and music schools, while learning the violin and piano with my teachers and being surrounded by people who sang. Music has always been deeply connected to my life and culture, but most importantly, music heals me, and I want to use my music to heal people around the world, make them happy.

What are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influences are the experiences I have had throughout my life. The places I have been, the people I have met, the things I have experienced and the different sounds I have been exposed to all naturally find their way into my music. I draw inspiration from the world around me and turn those experiences into sound.

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am an independent artist and exploring what that means to me in this generation.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
My biggest challenge has been learning not to chase perfection. I have been working on my debut for some time, and because I am extremely hardworking and put my all into everything I do, I can sometimes overthink and want every detail to be perfect. I am very passionate and hungry for my music career, but I have had to learn that sometimes you simply have to put your work out into the world and let it be. That is something I am still learning to embrace with my music.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
For now I am currently working on my debut which is coming soon, and that will be my very first song.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My debut release, “Tropical,” is coming later this year and marks the beginning of a musical world I’m building as a series. I see my music almost like a show, with “Tropical” serving as Episode One, introducing listeners to me, my sound and the world I want to create. The song is upbeat, fun and designed to give you the feeling of being somewhere tropical, surrounded by love, warmth and good energy. Alongside the single, I will also be releasing an animated show that I created with my friends, which helps bring the story of the song to life and gives listeners a deeper experience of the world behind my music.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I have been writing and making beats a lot and I am super excited to share a lot of music and start of with my debut Single Tropical.
