OceaSand, a New Zealand based artist who loves and has been inspired by many different genres of music. With my first few songs that I released, I always had featured singers, but one day I took the chance to sing one of the songs myself, and I thought I sounded ok. This bunch of songs on the new E.P I class as art songs, and as art is in the eye of the beholder, I hope these tracks appeal to a good number of people. The new E.P is out 7th August 2026 and is called OceaSand’s 1st.

I’ve been writing lyrics and collaborating with musicians since 1993

Alternative and a mixture of different genres
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
What inspired me was the feeling I got from listening to songs, I wanted to convey that to others in the music I release.

George Michael and The Beatles

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Finding a loyal fan base who would get something emotional out of my creative work
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
Four singles featuring other singers, one single with me singing and the new E.P coming out on the 7th August 2026.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
It’s a different type of music to what I’ve released in the past, with different genres of songs on it.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I’m hoping this release will bring in a lot more fans which will drive me to put out an album as there are quite a few demos I have.
