“This track totally resonated for me because we’re taught God is love. So to me, that was an inspiration. It is an inspirational song in that respect to me. It’s like God talking to me. My name is love. You know what my name is.” Inaya Day

Golden Gate is back with the banger ‘My Name Is Love’, a love letter to disco and house, written and produced in Leeds, UK by Tee Cooper & Harper Lake, played by a stellar collective of live musicians around the world and with vocals by the iconic Inaya Day in NYC.

Known all over the world for her classic chart-topper Nasty Girl, recent smash with Ewan McVicar, Our Revival, and much more, Inaya channels a warm 70s feel with emotion, intensity and power that you can feel. This is romantic, hedonistic, positive music for dancing through difficult times.

“The lyrics are inspired by classic disco records like ‘I Love The Nightlife’, ‘Downtown’ and ‘MacArthur Park’” says Harper from the group, “about a girl finding herself and becoming a woman in the city. It’s about love, romance, dancing and all the best things in life. It’s about blocking out negative energy and believing in love, so it’s really a song for today too I think. We’re so proud of this one, and Inaya has been the perfect collaborator, she has just killed it and working with her has been a beautiful experience”

The track features Golden Gate rhythm section mainstays L.A Bass legend Dubsworth (Jahtari) on bass and Tom O’Brien on keys and synth, rising London star Parthenope (Blue Note) on Sax, Gary Haguenauer (Art Of Tones) on Guitar. Backing vocals from Harper, joined by Cheryl Holland and Katie Brewer.

The release is their second on The Disco Express after their debut ‘Enter The Golden Gate’ which quickly gained support from legends across the board from Francois K to Danny Krivit, Mousse T to Sophie Lloyd and has set dance floors alight from ADE to WMC, Glastonbury to Ibiza and beyond.

The track is being released as a single and as part of the landmark 100th compilation on The Disco Express featuring Michelle Weeks, John Morales, Bustin Loose, Magnolia and many more, coming out on both on digital and a beautiful limited double pack vinyl.

Since that last release they have brought their show stopping live performances to clubs across London and The North, as well as iconic venues like The Jazz Cafe and Hootananny and festivals including Glastonbury, Wilderness, ADE and Love Trails.

Catch them at a show near you soon. Time to step back through the Golden Gate.
